Most people are lucky if they get to pursue one dream in life. After my first dream abruptly ended, I still had another to work toward. By following that path, I discovered just how big of a difference I can make for the people in my community.
Growing up, I had two interests: playing baseball and becoming a housing developer. That second dream had a lot to do with my family. My mom worked in real estate, and my dad owned his own contracting company. I remember hearing him get ready for work in the mornings at 3:30 a.m., then return home late in the evenings. In my dad’s eyes, the workday was over when the job was done. My favorite days were when he took me along to job sites. It was always so exciting, and I found the whole process fascinating.
But like so many kids, I also fell in love with baseball. I pursued that dream until I was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays as a senior and began my time as a professional ballplayer.
Baseball required frequent travel all over the country. I struggled knowing that there were hundreds of people who would give anything to be in my position, yet I didn’t feel fulfilled. While I was grateful for the opportunity, I wasn’t sure that this was what I really wanted. I rarely got to see my family, and with kid number two on the way, I knew that I would miss more important events in their lives.
When my mother passed away, my perspective changed. It brought what I already knew into sharp focus: time with family is limited. I was spending six or seven months away, when I needed to be close to my family. I wanted to watch my kids grow up, so I quietly retired from baseball in the off-season and hung up my baseball jersey for good in the spring of 2007.
Pursuing my second dream began with construction. I had already been working in that sector in my off seasons, so it felt natural. I had big goals. My dad had built something for himself, and I wanted to do the same. That’s how I came to create the Custom Fit Construction company. I wanted a business that could handle everything from the front curb to the back fence.
I originally got my real estate license for personal use, but I soon saw the value I could provide for others. I’ve personally worked in every aspect of construction, so I can walk into a house and see things that other agents can’t. It was rewarding to know that I was able to go beyond the work of a traditional real estate agent or broker.
While life as a professional baseball player may have been exciting, being there for my wife and our six kids has been the best decision I could have made. In 2019, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Through treatments and the long road to recovery, I was able to be there for her and for our kids in ways I never could have if I wasn’t in real estate. Then, in 2021, my father passed away. He has inspired me to chase my dreams and now, has given me an even deeper appreciative of the relationships and people in my life.
With a newfound sense of purpose and gratitude, I’m inspired to live each day with intention, taking care of my family, friends and clients. It is important to me to add value in all areas of my life. I want to be someone people can count on when they need help, guidance and support.
One of the things I cherish about this job is how it connects me to my community. I’ve lived in all four corners of Las Vegas. It is an honor and privilege to guide people through one of life’s most significant transitions in the community I love. As I look to the future, I want to build a legacy prioritizing relationships and serving as a resource and advocate for my clients.
My mission is to provide as much value as possible throughout the buying and selling experience. With this mindset, I am always striving to improve and streamline the experience for my clients. Having a team, Custom Fit Real Estate Group, through Keller Williams is a huge asset to my clients, providing me with access to their resources, cutting-edge technology and global network. It is important to me that my team is collaborative and always staying educated on industry changes. This means when you work with me, you also have the support and knowledge of multiple agents, all driven by the same goal of getting our clients to the finish line.
My knowledge and industry experience have equipped me to view a house from a different perspective than most. I can identify big issues and “minor” details that can turn out to be major factors. With this expertise, I help my clients make informed decisions that they can feel good about! I love what I do, from design elements and marketing strategies to negotiations and problem-solving; it is a genuine pleasure of mine to help people achieve their dreams! Even when the transaction is over, our relationship doesn’t end—I am here to support you as your REALTOR® and friend for life!
